Robinson is looking like a great commitment for the Nebraska football program.
Nebraska’s football commitments on the recruiting trail just keep looking better and better. 2019 all-purpose running back Wandale Robinson was named a finalist for the 2019 All-American Bowl Player of the Year award. Robinson posted about his nomination via Twitter.
The award is given annually to the nation’s best high school senior football player. It is the biggest honor a high school football player can receive. Some of the award’s past winners include Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson and former National Football League and Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Terrelle Pryor. That my friends is some pretty elite company.

The four-star running back is ranked number 117 nationally, No. 2 all-purpose back, and the second -ranked player in his class from the state of Kentucky per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He has put together an impressive high school career during which over the span of four years, he has recorded notable numbers. In 2018, he carried the rock 206 times for 1,973 yards and 30 touchdowns. Robinson also proved to be a threat as a receiving back, recording 31 catches for 725 yards and 11 touchdowns. Over the course of his four years at Western Hills, Robinson recorded 6,795 rushing yards and 97 rushing touchdowns. Catching 102 passes for 1,787 yards and 21 touchdowns, he has proven to be a dual-threat running back throughout his entire high school career.
Overall, it will be fun to watch this 2019 recruiting glass take the field. This class has a little bit of everything and possesses talent on both sides of the football. With five 4-star commitments, this class is very top-heavy with talent. That is not a bad thing as you need to have impact players in your program. Many of the top programs over the past couple of years have had at least one recruiting class that has really set the tone for the future of the program down the road. This could be the case for Nebraska as they look to usher in a new era of football.
Robinson is certainly an exciting commitment for the program. It will interesting to see who else they can land on National Signing Day in February. For now though, they have a player that can make an impact right away. That is evident by his nomination for this award on Thursday. This can only mean good things for the future of the program, and after a 4-8 season, good news is certainly welcome.
