There were a couple of news tidbits Wednesday that came out about Nebraska football and one has to do with the date of the Huskers spring game.
Lots of college fans are looking forward to their football teams next game, which for about 75 percent of the FBS, it seems will be a bowl game. However, for Nebraska football fans, the next time they see the Huskers on the field will be this spring.
And now, thanks to the Omaha-World Herald, we know that the Nebraska football spring game will take place on April 13. That will be the culmination of Scott Frost‘s second spring football and it will be the closest thing to a game Husker fans will get until next fall.
While the spring game might not as be as big in other places, it’s huge for Nebraska fans. And if Wandale Robinson enrolls early and there is some talk that he might, Husker fans could get a glimpse of the star running back sooner rather than later.
The Omaha-World Herald reported the spring game after the University of Nebraska announced it, however, it wasn’t the only announcement Wednesday as the school said it will be raising ticket prices for next season for the first time since 2015. You can read more about that here.
The increase doesn’t seem too steep though, so it shouldn’t impact season-ticket holders too much. The more exciting news is about the spring game. It seems like a long time from now, but spring football will get going sometime in March and after the spring game, the season will be right around the corner.
Until then, we can all focus on recruiting and the excitement being generated around Nebraska football right now. Frost is making believers out of everyone and in a few months time, the spring game will certainly offer Husker fans a sign of even greater progress.
