After lots of speculation, Wandale Robinson, one of the best high school players in Kentucky, is committed to the Nebraska football program.

Things change fast in the world of college football and after everyone was pondering what might happen with Wandale Robinson and Nebraska football, the star running back from Kentucky finally announced his decision.

And it’s a decision that Nebraska football fans are going to like because he has decided to become a member of the Huskers.

For Scott Frost and company, this is a huge get. Robinson is a legit 4-star running back and stealing a player that was committed to his in-state team, which is also an SEC school, shows the pull the Huskers are starting to have on the recruiting trail.

Coaches went and paid Robinson a visit down in Kentucky recently and late Tuesday night, Steve Wiltfong, a Nebraska football recruiting analyst for 247sports, changed his crystal ball prediction from Kentucky to NU. Well, on Wednesday, that prediction proved right and here are Robinson’s own words on Twitter to explain his decision.

Certainly, it’s tough for a player to say no to his in-state school and after Kentucky put together one of the best football seasons in its history, it’s easy to see how he got caught up in the momentum of the program.

But at the end of the day, for a skilled offensive player like him, Nebraska seems like a better fit. It’s going to fun to see what Robinson can under the direction of Frost and offensive coordinator Troy Walters. Robinson will also add to an offense that already has some nice pieces in Adrian Martinez, JD Spielman and Maurice Washington.

Nebraska football fans already had plenty of reasons to be excited about the 2019 season and the flipping of Robinson is simply another in a long list.
