When it comes to recruiting, things are never over until the player officially signs and that’s why Nebraska football still has a shot at Wandale Robinson.

Now that the season has come to an end for Nebraska football, the work on the 2019 season has begun and a big part of that is getting back on the recruiting trail.

So far, head coach Scott Frost has Nebraska football in a strong position. The Huskers have the No. 22 class in the country according to the 247sports rankings and more importantly, they are fourth in the Big Ten and first among the Big Ten West.

When you look at the class, it has Frost’s fingerprints all over it. The Huskers have loaded up on athletes and skill guys, with three running backs, two wide receivers and a quarterback.

Those kinds of players are what Nebraska football needs to run the high-powered offense Frost wants to employ and thanks to a tidbit from Dave Lackford of Rivals.com, it appears Frost and the Huskers are hoping to add another skill position player to the mix.

That recruit is Wandale Robinson, a Kentucky running back that was once considered a strong bet to choose Nebraska. Then, the Wildcats had their best season in years in the SEC and Robinson announced his decision to commit to the University of Kentucky a few weeks ago.

However, as many said at the time, recruiting really isn’t over until signing day and now it appears Nebraska is still in play for Robinson, who is going to welcome Huskers running back coach Ryan Held for an in-home visit this week.

Obviously, we have no idea what this means and it could end up meaning nothing. But at the very least, the door must be open a little for Robinson, otherwise, why would he meet with the Huskers?

Frost does already have three running backs in this class in Ronald Thompkins, Rahmir Johnson and Dedrick Mills, however, Robinson is a special kind of player and he would be among the gems in this class if he decided to come aboard.

Ultimately, Nebraska may come up short on Robinson, yet as of now, the Huskers have a chance and that’s more than what they had a few weeks ago.
