Offense: B+

When it came to the way Nebraska played offensively against Iowa, Husker fans had to be pretty happy. Nebraska racked up more than 400 yards against the third-best defense in the Big Ten and scored 28 points on the road, including 15 in the fourth quarter.

The finish was spectacular and it felt like if the Huskers got the ball back with a chance to win, they would have done it. The defense just couldn’t get that final stop and Adrian Martinez never saw the ball again after his game-tying 2-point pass to Kade Warner.

When it was all said and done, Martinez was 26-of-38 for 260 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 76 yards and a touchdown. The only real criticism of Nebraska’s offense was two drives that failed to get touchdowns.

One ended with an interception and the other was the early field goal. If Nebraska executes in those situations, maybe it finds a way to win the game. It’s hard to put it all on Martinez because he is a freshman. He also missed one of his best receivers. But in the end, it’s all part of the learning process.
