Nebraska football dropped a close game to Iowa on Black Friday and here is a look at how the Huskers graded out in the defeat.

Sadly, there are no more Nebraska football games and that is maybe the worst part of looking back at the loss to Iowa. Not only did the Huskers lose, but the 31-28 defeat will be the last time we see the Big Red until spring ball.

But hey, at least all Nebraska football fans can feel good about the way this season ended compared to last year. The 4-8 the Huskers posted this year and the 4-8 record post last season are two completely different things.

Last season, Mike Riley was on the way out and everyone knew that. The biggest concern was whether or not Nebraska was going to get Scott Frost, which it did. Obviously, the turnaround wasn’t going to happen in one year and honestly, even this first season didn’t go as planned.

However, the Huskers closed the season strong, winning four of the six games and nearly pulled off an incredibly satisfying upset over the hated Iowa Hawkeyes. Yet. it just wasn’t meant to be this season.

This season was meant to be a year of growing pains and it was. Now though, Nebraska has some pieces to work with and that is something we can all be excited about as we take a look back and hand out grades for the final Huskers game of the year against Iowa, which turned out to be a microcosm of 2018 for Nebraska.
