Nebraska Football: 5 things we learned from the Huskers loss to Iowa
Every Nebraska fan will miss Stanley Morgan
When it comes to wide receivers in the history of the Nebraska football program, no one has been more productive than Stanley Morgan Jr.
And while the Huskers didn’t win at Iowa City Friday, Morgan put the finishes touches on a record-breaking career. Not only did he get enough receiving yards to pass Kenny Bell, becoming the school’s all-time leader in both yards and receptions, but he also became Nebraska’s first 1,000-receiver.
In the final game of his college career, Morgan caught seven passes for 81 yards. He converted a key third down and a key fourth down in the fourth quarter and helped put Nebraska in position to tie the game.
Unfortunately, his career will end with another 4-8 season. But he ended his last season as a Husker with 71 receptions, 1,004 yards and seven touchdowns. No question about it, Morgan will be missed and when you talk about great wide receivers at Nebraska, his name will absolutely need to be in the mix.
