Even with a losing season, this senior class is worth remembering

For a team that shouldn’t have much to play for, Nebraska football has been extremely motivated during the second half of the season and a lot of credit for that should go the seniors.

This season isn’t what any of them expected it to be, but the guys that stayed with it, have really finished strong. Think about Devine Ozigbo. During the first few games, he was averaging about three years per carry. Now, over the last seven games, he has averaged 123 yards and scored nine touchdowns.

Stanley Morgan Jr. is closing in on a 1,000-yard season, which would be the first of his career. Morgan is also closing in on some key achievements. With 24 receiving yards, he would pass Kenny Bell for the most all-time in Nebraska football history. He already is the school’s all-time leading receiver with 182 catches.

Morgan can also take over sole possession of second place in school history when it comes to touchdown receptions with one more. He has 22 already in his career and 2.666 receiving yards.

Those two guys have been outstanding but the list goes on and on. Tanner Farmer, Luke Gifford, Tre Neal, Jerald Foster, Aaron Williams, Reed, Matt Jarzynka, Freedom Akinmoladun, Sedrick King, Derrick Young, Austin Rose and others. They have been great, especially with the way they have kept fighting no matter what this season and that’s another reason to give thanks.
