Nebraska football is 4-7 going into Friday’s game with Iowa, but Cornhusker fans still have a lot to be thankful for and here are the top five reasons why.

If you didn’t know much about Nebraska football and just judged the Huskers by their record, you might think Cornhusker fans don’t have much at all to be thankful for after this season.

But that is just not the reality.  The truth is, Nebraska football fans have a lot to be thankful for and after wins in four of the last five games, this season hasn’t ended up being as bad as it once looked.

It’s unfortunate Nebraska won’t be able to reach a bowl game unless there is a crazy circumstance that gets them in at 5-7 because this team is good enough and could really use the extra practices. That is where the losses to Colorado, Troy, Northwestern and Ohio State really hurt. Win any of those games and the Huskers are playing for a bowl bid Friday.

But that’s ok. I have a feeling Nebraska will be back in postseason play next season and who knows, if the Huskers can take a jump like Scott Frost and his team at Central Florida did, maybe the Huskers will have a shot at reaching the Big Ten title game.

If Nebraska beats Iowa it will be 3-3 in the West division, as well as 4-5 in the league overall. After the horrid start, that’s not bad at all and a win over Iowa would make up for missing a bowl game.

All in all, it’s a good time to be a Nebraska football fan and here are the five biggest reasons you have to be thankful when it comes to the Huskers this Thanksgiving.
