Nebraska Football: 3 reasons the Huskers can beat Iowa
Nebraska football has won four of its last five games and has momentum heading into its showdown with Iowa. Here are three reasons the Huskers can win.
Following the win over Michigan State last week, the Nebraska football team will get the chance to end its season with three straight wins if the Huskers can beat Iowa Friday.
Of course, beating the Hawkeyes will require doing something Nebraska football hasn’t done all season long and that is getting a win on the road. The Huskers have come close at times and have played quality games on the road against Northwestern and Ohio State. Yet, they haven’t been able to seal the deal.
The loss against Northwestern was particularly painful, because of the way Nebraska gave the game away in the final minutes, before losing in overtime.
That loss showed Nebraska it could play with good football teams and since then, the Huskers have played some really solid football. The Huskers lost close games to the Wildcats and Buckeyes, two teams ranked in the top 19 and two of the three teams still alive for the Big Ten championship.
Outside of those losses, Nebraska has won four games, with three of them coming by double digits. Knocking off Michigan State was a big step forward for the Huskers and beating Iowa would be even better. Not only would NU be knocking off a 7-4 team, but it would also be the first win in this rivalry games in three years.
Friday, Nebraska football can show just how far it has come and here are three reasons why the Huskers can beat the Hawkeyes.
