Nebraska football will host Michigan State in its final home game of the season Saturday at Memorial Stadium. Here are five predictions for the Huskers.

Over the last month of the season, the Nebraska football team has really put together some positive momentum and Saturday, on senior day at Memorial Stadium, the Huskers will look to continue that.

Of course, beating Michigan State is going to be a bigger challenge. So far, Nebraska football has defeated Minnesota, Bethune-Cookman and Illinois. Not exactly college football juggernauts. Yet, Michigan State, which was ranked 18th a week ago, is a solid team, one with a 6-4 record and beating the Spartans would certainly count as a step in the right direction.

Beyond beating a good team and winning a big game, Nebraska football wants to send its seniors out right. This season didn’t go as planned. Few expected the Huskers to be 3-7 with zero hope of reaching a bowl game. Looking at the schedule, I thought 6-7 wins and I assumed I was being pessimistic. Injuries and inexperience doomed Nebraska football early in the season.

Now, the Huskers are playing their best football. Adrian Martinez is playing as well as any quarterback in the conference; Devine Ozigbo is on fire and the defense is getting stops and takeaways.

Whether that will continue this week against Michigan State is another question. But with that in mind, here are five predictions for the Huskers as they get set to take on the Spartans.
