Nebraska football is hosting Illinois Saturday in Lincoln, here are three predictions for the Huskers against the Fighting Illini.

After a close loss to Ohio State last week, Nebraska football will be back on its home field Saturday, as the Fighting Illini of Illinois come to town.

For a number of reasons, this is an interesting game. Nebraska football comes in with a 2-7 record, so a bowl game is out of the picture. Yet, even so, the Huskers seem determined to finish the season on a positive note. You can tell these next three games are about the seniors and about the future.

The one thing about Scott Frost, he knows how important Nebraska football is in the state of Nebraska and how important each and every game is; how important every win is. The Huskers will be motivated for this one and will be chomping at the bit to get their second home win in conference play.

Illinois, on the other hand, is 4-5 and directed by head coach Lovie Smith. Despite his defensive prowess in the NFL, the Illinois defense has been horrible, even worse than Nebraska. But the Illini still have a chance to reach a bowl with two wins in three games, so they will be hungry as well.

The early kickoff should make a cold, crisp morning in Lincoln and the wind could end up being a factor. Both teams like to run the ball and both teams should score plenty of points. This should be a fun game and here are three predictions with that in mind.
