Nebraska returns all of its top scorers

One of the biggest reasons for the optimism in Lincoln and around the country when it comes to Nebraska basketball is the fact that the Huskers return most of their top players from a season ago.

James Palmer Jr. who led the Huskers with 17.2 points per game returns, along with Isaac Copeland (12.9 ppg) and Glynn Watson Jr. (10.5 ppg). Isaiah Roby is another name to watch and he’s back after averaging 8.7 points and 6.3 rebounds a year ago. On top of that, sophomore Thomas Allen, who averaged 3.2 points off the bench will move into the starting lineup.

The Huskers don’t really have any notable freshmen coming in that will make an immediate impact, so it will be up to those five guys to carry the bulk of the scoring load. Jack McVeigh is another veteran that could contribute some solid minutes, but beyond that, depth is a concern.

However, with Palmer, Copeland, Watson, Roby and Allen, the Huskers have one of the best starting fives in the Big Ten and in college hoops, talent, plus experience is usually a very good combination.
