After winning back-to-back games, the Nebraska football team will look to keep the good vibes going at Ohio State, here’s why the Huskers can hang around.

Since Nebraska football joined the Big Ten, playing Ohio State hasn’t really been kind to the Huskers. Yes, there was the come-from-behind win in 2011, but outside of that, it has been ugly.

Back in 2016, Nebraska football traveled to Columbus as the ninth-ranked team in the country, only to get shellacked 62-3. Last season, in Lincoln, the Huskers lost soundly again, 56-14.

Yet, that was the Mike Riley era. Now Scott Frost is in charge and even though Nebraska is 2-6, the Huskers are better than people think. If Adrian Martinez had finished the Colorado game and played against Troy, you can make a strong argument Nebraska wins both games. That alone makes the Huskers 4-4 right now.

Then consider Nebraska blew a game at Northwestern it should have won. Young teams need to learn how to win, I understand that, but that game was given away. That Northwestern team is now leading the Big Ten West and beat Wisconsin at home. The Wildcats also led Michigan by 17 at home too, so seriously, Nebraska is not as bad as its record.

Ohio State is really good, there is no debating that. Yet, this Buckeyes squad isn’t as powerful as teams of the past, especially without Nick Bosa around. This is also a new era of Nebraska football and with that in mind, here are three reasons why the Huskers will hang around Saturday.
