The Nebraska basketball team could be getting itself a new power forward when the target announces where he will be committing on Wednesday.

One of the top recruits left on the Nebraska basketball board has said he will be announcing his choice of school on Wednesday. Yavuz Gultekin announced on his official Twitter account on Tuesday night that he is going to be making his college decision.

While the prospect has 14 scholarship offers, most recruiting experts have said there are about seven teams that have a legitimate shot at landing him. The announcement that he is going to be picking his school on Wednesday might be ruling out the Huskers.

He had a visit scheduled for a trip to Lincoln on November 9. So the question now becomes, is there a chance he might still pick Nebraska even if he hasn’t seen the campus on an official visit?

The answer could still be yes. Technically, the only school on his list that he has actually taken a scheduled official visit to is Northwestern.

In addition to a November visit to the Cornhuskers, he also has an official visit next month set to TCU. He had a visit later this month to Minnesota. It’s certainly possible that the Wildcats have won over the power forward.

That would be bad news for the Nebraska basketball team if it turns out to be the case. Yavuz Gultekin is a 3-star power forward that is already standing at 6’7″ tall. He’s considered the 3rd best player in the state of Maryland when it comes to the 2019 class.

He’s also the 30th best point guard in the entire class. He’s also considered the 164th best player in the entire class. If the Cornhuskers could find a way to grab him, they would be pulling off quite a victory.
