The Nebraska football team saw one of its defensive back targets decide to head to the Pac 12 over the weekend.
The Nebraska football team lost a game on Saturday and lost out on a recruiting target over the weekend. While we know just how damaging the game’s loss was, it’s unclear just how big a loss Armauni Archie is to the Cornhuskers.
The defensive back announced he was going to be choosing between his final four teams on Friday. Washington State, Wyoming and San Jose State were in the final group alongside the Huskers.
On Friday, Archie announced he was headed to Wazzou. On its face, it’s never good to lose out on a player that is headed to another FBS school.

The issue here is it’s not entirely clear just how focused on Archie the Cornhuskers ever were. It’s safe to say he wasn’t among the school’s top targets.
The defensive back rated as a diamond in the rough, at best. The good news is the Huskers didn’t lose out to Wyoming or San Jose State.
His announcement that the Huskers were even among the prospects final four was a bit of a surprise for some. There had been plenty of people who wondered whether the Cornhuskers were looking for him to come to Lincoln.
On the other hand, if he’s good enough to play at Washington State, it would seem he could at least be a decent depth choice for Scott Frost and company. The bottom line is that there are bigger targets on the horizon for the Nebraska football team. If they can bring home someone like Wandale Robinson, that would be the kind of recruiting win the coaching staff can build on.
