The Nebraska football team is still trying to find the right mix of players in order to finally emerge from a win with a victory.

Another week, another couple of depth chart changes for the Huskers. Nebraska had to do some reshuffling thanks to two departures from the roster.

Other reshuffling appears to be Scott Frost and his coaches looking for just the right mix. Here’s hoping it does indeed find the right connection.

At running back, Devine Ozigbo and Maurice Washington are now one and two on the depth chart. One change is at the first wide receiver spot. Stanley Morgan Jr. is obviously still the starter. Jaron Woodyard is his only listed backup now. Woodyard was sharing that role with Bryan Reimers last week.

At center, Tanner Farmer is back as the starter and Cole Conrad is back to being his backup. Last week, Nebraska tried Farmer at starting right guard and Conrad at starting center. Boe Wilson is back to starting right guard.

At the second WR spot, Kade Warner is still the starter, Mike Williams is his backup again. At the third wide receiver spot behind JD Spielman is Wyatt Mazour. The Husker coaches have talked about the progress Mazour is making. It appears they’re working hard to find him field time. He’s actually sharing the backup spot with Miles Jones. Jones hasn’t made an impact yet but the coaches are also clearly trying to find a way to use him.

Speaking of players the coaches are trying to get playing time for. During his post practice press conference, Frost talked quite a bit about Cameron Jurgens. In order to try and get him on the field, Jurgens is getting time at both offensive line and tight end. He’s not listed anywhere on the depth chart, but he’s getting closer to playing somewhere.

There are fewer depth chart changes on defense. Jacob Weinmaster has slid into the backup spot for Mohammed Barry. Other than that, the big change is at punter. Isaac Armstrong has replaced Caleb Lightbourn as the starting punter.

Next. What we learned about the Nebraska football team in their loss at Wisconsin. dark

Lightbourn has had a rather up and down career for the Nebraska football team. With his leg, he might have one more opportunity to get the starting job back. That’s assuming Armstrong’s performance against Northwestern was just a case of catching lightning in a bottle.
