A defensive back from California named the Nebraska football team in his final four while also saying he would commit to his school of choice on Friday.
As the season hits the mid-point, Nebraska football recruiting has been ramping up. It’s actually ramped up to the point that the Huskers might be getting another commit on Friday.
Armauni Archie announced on his Twitter account that he was going to be committing to a school this Friday. He also cut down the schools that he was considering to four.
The Cornhuskers made that cut, alongside Washington State, Wyoming and San Jose State. While those aren’t exactly the most well-established football programs, there is at least another FBS Power 5 in the Cougars.

Archie announcing a final four is a bit misleading, as he was boasting just five offers total. Nevada is the only school that gave the defensive back an official offer that he isn’t still considering.
The DB certainly counts as someone who might be a diamond in the rough. There’s also a question as to whether the Huskers would be willing to take Archie’s commitment even if he did name them the school of his choice.
While he is a 3-star recruit by 247Sports, he hasn’t been given a composite rating and isn’t rated in the California state rankings. If Archie does commit to the Nebraska football team, it would be without an official visit to Nebraska. So far he has made only one official visit. He went and saw Washington State on September 14.
