The Nebraska football team has been upping their recruiting efforts over the last few weeks. They might want to check in on one of their early offers.

Recruiting is apparently ramping up for quite a few programs all over the country. While the Nebraska football team has been sending out new offers and scheduling visits, some of the Cornhuskers’ top targets are getting offers from other Power 5 programs.

The Huskers were in on defensive tackle Gervon Dexter early. The 2020 prospect has since impressed everyone who has come to see him.

While there isn’t a composite ranking for Dexter yet, he’s been rated as a 4-star prospect by 247Sports. He’s also the fourth best defensive tackle in the 2020 class and the 81st best player in the entire class.

While there was a time that Nebraska was the only Power 5 school going after Dexter, that has been slowly changing. Over the last couple of days, its changed quite drastically.

On Thursday, Dexter received an official offer from Tennessee. On Friday he got two more, from Indiana and North Carolina.

Those offers brought Dexter’s total scholarship offer tally to 21. Quite a few of those now are among the best schools in the Power 5 conferences.

The big question now is whether or not the Nebraska football team is still among the top schools for Gervon Dexter. There is still quite a bit of time before the defensive tackle will be pulling the commitment trigger. If they haven’t checked in lately, the Huskers are going to want to show Dexter how bad they want him.
