The Nebraska football team is a big underdog in the Big Ten in week four of the season. Check out who will cover and who won’t.

After a rather rough start to making picks this year, I’ve managed to make the kind of turnaround Nebraska football fans had hoped the Huskers would make.

It’s no surprise I’ve gotten hotter the further into the season we’ve got and the more I can base those picks off of. So come along and follow my picks. Having said that, this is where we’ll place what is certain to become the usual disclaimer that these are just game picks. No money has been or will be wagered on any of these games.

Maryland at Michigan (-17.5) 11:00 AM CT (ABC)
Michigan had a bit of a scare against Northwestern. Maryland has been better than anyone expected so far this season. Is this game going to be better than it would have been in years past? Probably, but I think Michigan’s defense is the difference.

Pick: Michigan

Northwestern at Michigan State (-10) 11:00 AM CT (FS1)
Northwestern almost pulled off a heck of an upset against a Michigan team that absolutely throttled the Nebraska football team. Michigan State is 3-1 but they haven’t exactly been playing great football. I think this game is more of a slugfest than Vegas does.

Pick: Northwestern

Illinois (-5.5) at Rutgers 11:00 AM CT (BTN)
Nebraska football fans are hoping this ends up being a battle for the bottom of the Big Ten. Because then it will mean the Huskers won’t be there. Rutgers is a bad football team. Illinois isn’t exactly good but they should be able to handle the Scarlet Knights fairly easily.

Pick: Illinois

Iowa (-7) at Minnesota 2:30 PM CT (BTN)
Iowa’s only loss of the season is to Wisconsin. While Minnesota is currently nursing a pretty good record, they haven’t looked all that good. That includes a blowout loss to Maryland. This is likely one of those games that will be close at the beginning and then it will rapidly go sour for the Gophers.

Pick: Iowa

Indiana at Ohio State (-26) 3:00 PM CT (Fox)
Indiana is already two wins away from being bowl eligible. Ohio State avoided getting knocked out of the National Championship hunt last week against Penn State. Having said all that, it’s a bit surprising that the spread is as big as it is. At the same time, I expect the Buckeyes to show they’re still among the best in the country.

PIck: Ohio State

Nebraska at Wisconsin (-1) 6:30 PM CT (BTN)
The spread for this game started out about four points more in favor of Wisconsin. It’s not clear to me why it has shrunk so much. The Nebraska football team is having some real problems with defense and haven’t managed to stay consistent on offense. I think Wisconsin wins by at least three touchdowns and there’s a real chance it could be as bad as it was against Michigan.

Pick: Wisconsin
