There’s been a lot of talk about Nebraska needing to find football players who are going to step up, it appears there are a few who have answered the call.

If the Nebraska football team is going to have any chance of salvaging the season, they’re going to need more players to step up. We’ve seen guys like Mo Barry and Dicaprio Bootle do it.

It appears Kade Warner is doing it as well. He’s gone from walk-on to starter.

Other players are starting to show they think they know what it takes to make the Huskers do better moving forward. As Scott Frost said early on, progress might not come in the form of wins.

It’s unlikely, even if the players are starting to figure it out, that the team is going to win on Saturday. The key is going to be if guys like Deontai Williams can get their teammates to follow in their footsteps.

That and other kernels in this morning’s Go Big Read.
