Nebraska football team has lost one linebacker for the rest of the season and one defensive lineman for the foreseeable future.

You’ve likely heard the old saying about adding insult to injury. The Nebraska football team is doing it the other way round.

Starting out the season 0-4 was bad enough. Now the team is starting to see some of its best players miss time with various bumps and bruises.

This doesn’t count Maurice Washington who missed the game against Purdue after being out all week due to illness. During that game, Will Honas suffered an injury that head coach Scott Frost said on Monday would end his season.

Frost also said that defensive tackle Mick Stoltenberg, who missed last weekend, is going to be out for the foreseeable future. Bad just went to worse as the Cornhuskers prepare to take on the Wisconsin Badgers.

That and other kernels in this morning’s Go Big Read.
