Nebraska football offers new Florida defensive back Myles Bell
The Nebraska football recruiting machine continues to roll along. A brand new offer has gone out to the Florida defensive back.
While the Nebraska football season continues to move forward, Scott Frost and the coaching staff are still doing a kind of double duty. On the one hand, they are trying to figure out a way to win on the field. On the other, they are trying to secure the future.
Securing that future on Wednesday night come in the form of a new scholarship offer to Myles Bell. Bell announced he had received the scholarship offer on his official Twitter account.
This development is an interesting one if only because the Cornhuskers’ coaching staff hasn’t been handing out a ton of new offers lately. Most of that action came earlier in the year.
The Huskers do have a ton of offers out there but they were almost all issued in the spring and summer. It appears the staff has been doing some reevaluating on where it stands with some of its targets and the likelihood of landing them.
Bell might not be a top-tier target, but he is plenty talented. It is also interesting the offer comes one day after defensive coordinator Erik Chinander had talked about he and his coaches going after a certain type of player.
Bell holds a total of 10 offers now, with Virginia Tech being one of the most prominent schools before Nebraska in the bunch. The defensive back out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida also has offers from Big Ten schools Illinois, Maryland and Penn State.
Currently rated a 3-star prospect, the offer list shows a talent quite a bit better than a player normally getting that kind of a rating. The next step will be trying to get Myles Bell to come see the Nebraska football team up close and personal.
