The Nebraska football team had a little insult added to the injury of a 0-2 start to the season when it was added to the Bottom 25 rankings this week.

It has been a less than auspicious start for Scott Frost as the head coach of the Nebraska football team. After spending most of the offseason having people talk like he walked on water, the Huskers are 0-2 to start the season.

That 0-2 start is bad enough for most Husker fans. The fact that they are 0-2 in part because they lost to a Sun Belt team, in Lincoln, has some outside the state not really buying into what Frost is selling just yet.

CBS Sports writer Tom Fornelli is one of those that isn’t buying what the Huskers are selling yet. Though he’s quick to point out that the Cornhuskers being in his Bottom 25 rankings aren’t based on his opinion but rather on a calculation that populates the list.

However Nebraska has landed on that list, they are there this week. It is, unfortunately, the second straight week the team has “managed” to make this list.

Last week the Cornhuskers were 19th on the Bottom 25. This week they moved “up” to 10th. For those not familiar with these rankings, it means the Huskers are the 10th worst team in the entire country. Out of more than 120.

In explaining why Nebraska got to this point, Fornelli writes:

"I understand why Nebraska fans were upset last week, but there’s one fact that shouldn’t be ignored about the current state of this program. Scott Frost brings hope, yes, but even so, Nebraska is now 4-12 in its last 16 games. That includes a record of 2-7 at home. A road trip to Michigan is up next."

There’s bound to be some anger over the Nebraska football team ending up on this list. The problem is that the points he makes aren’t wrong.
