Nebraska football: 3 things we learned at Monday’s press conference
There was a lot of ground covered during Monday’s Nebraska football post-practice press conference. Check out the three biggest takeaways.
The Nebraska football coaching staff and players are picking up the pieces after a rather disappointing opening of the season. The good news is, at least in public, nobody is down or depressed about this season yet.
For the most part, coach after coach and player after player is saying all the right things to the media. The bad news is the play on the field isn’t really matching what’s being said in the press conferences.
It’s going to be hard for that to change considering the Huskers are going up against Michigan this weekend. The Huskers have opened the game as an 18 point dog.
That’s bigger than I thought it would be, but not a ridiculous number considering how the Wolverines have looked and how the Huskers have looked so far.
Michigan had a bumpy start to their season, losing to Notre Dame but they’ve righted themselves with wins over teams they are supposed to beat. Nebraska can’t say that, considering they should have been able to topple Troy.
Speaking about what the Cornhuskers need to do in order to win this week, head coach Scott Frost wasn’t confused. During his part of the press conference, the coach said his team was going to have to play “near perfect” if they wanted to topple the Wolverines.
Frost isn’t wrong in that regard. This is a heck of a Big Ten conference opener. Check out three other big takeaways we learned at Nebraska football’s post-practice press conference today.
