While the Nebraska football team is struggling on the field, the recruiting efforts have been going quite well. That includes a solid Top 25 class ranking.
The Nebraska football team has already gotten their 17th commitment in the 2019 class. Chris Hickman gave his pledge to the team on Saturday night.
While Scott Frost and company have had some problems winning games on the field, the 2019 recruiting class for the Cornhuskers has been going quite well.
Hickman, who is a 4-star tight end according to most recruiting services, has managed to bump the Huskers up the rankings. When talking about Rivals, 247Sports, and ESPN, the Huskers are now in the Top 25 of two of them.
Nebraska Cornhuskers
According to the Rivals rankings, the Huskers are all the way up to 21st in the country. In terms of total points, Nebraska is now sitting in fourth place in the Big Ten.
The Cornhuskers are sitting behind only Michigan, Penn State and Ohio State in points. When talking about average stars, Nebraska is fifth, with Wisconsin just barely edging them out.
When it comes to 247Sports, the Huskers have moved up from 24th to 23rd in the total rankings. Looking specifically at the Big Ten, Frost’s class is once again fourth behind Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State.
On that site, the Cornhuskers are comfortably in that spot in both average and total points. ESPN’s total rankings have not updated since Hickman committed, as the rankings are dated for September 12 and Nebraska is 30th.
Even if there isn’t consensus on the Nebraska football team being inside the Top 25 recruiting rankings, it’s clear that Frost and his staff are doing quite well. It’s also clear they are going to need to continue that run. An influx of talent is still very much needed when you look at what the team has done on the field.
