Since Rutgers won its season opener 35-7, the Scarlet Knights have sunk to new lows. Those lows are so low it has to make Nebraska football fans wonder why in the world they don’t get to take on the New Jersey-based school.

When Rutgers lost to Ohio State 52-3, nobody really batted an eye. Everyone knew that they weren’t really going to be able to hang with the Buckeyes.

Now that the Scarlet Knights have lost to Kansas 55-14? Just what in the world is going on over there?

Yes, I said Kansas. Not Kansas State. Not Kentucky.

The Kansas Jayhawks, which have spent most of the last decade as the most hapless Power Five team in the country just trounced a team the Big Ten hoped was at least going to be back to respectability soon.

Chris Ash has one more chance to get a win before he starts the Big Ten conference. So far his squad has been outscored 107-17 in the last two weeks. Nebraska football fans can take solace that their team isn’t that bad.
