The Nebraska football team might have lost on Saturday to the Colorado Buffaloes but there were a couple of nice performances. Check out our report card and see if you agree with the grades.

The Nebraska football team lost its long-awaited season opener on Saturday afternoon. The Cornhuskers put together a kind of a roller coaster experience against the Colorado Buffaloes.

There were times when the Huskers looked like they might be a force to be reckoned with in the Big Ten. Maybe they’d even be a force to be reckoned with on a national scale.

Other times, the team looked very much like the group that couldn’t get out of its own way in 2017. There were certainly aspects of the 4-8 season showing up every now and then.

In order to really understand how and why the Huskers got to be 0-1 on the season and lose 33-28, we’ve broken down the Nebraska football team’s report card by position group.

Obviously there are going to be some people who disagree with our assessment. When you are talking about grades, you’re talking about a subjective interpretation as to how the team and the position group played.

It should be pointed out that even when talking about a failing grade, this is the first week of the Nebraska football team’s season. That means there is plenty of “makeup” work to do in order to get a passing grade of the 2018 season.

The first group to get its first grade of the 2018 season is the group that is going to make the Cornhuskers offense go. We look at the signal callers first and foremost.
