The Nebraska football team came out looking sloppy and rusty. When they shook that rust off, the Huskers put on quite a show.

Nebraska football fans are likely still trying to catch their breath after that first half. The Cornhuskers started off looking about as bad as … well … last year.

Leaking like a sieve and turning the ball over two straight times, the Huskers were down 14-0 before most people could blink. If the score wasn’t annoying enough, ABC managed to enrage plenty of Nebraska fans when it decided not to show the Huskers’ first drive.

Yes, that drive ended in a fumble. No, it still wasn’t better watching Houston vs Arizona and then a spate of bad promos.

On that note, it appears the networks never want us to see the Tunnel Walk unless we’re there in person. Luckily, you can see at least a little of it here.

Once the game started, Adrian Martinez wasted no time in showing off why he’s been so hyped. Then he showed it again.

But we knew Adrian could run the ball. The question had been what kind of an air attack would we have with Martinez under center.

So far, so good when it comes to going to the air. Martinez appears to be every bit the weapon the Huskers were hoping he would be.

The Nebraska football team finished the first half … the first half, with nearly 250 yards rushing. Not pictured in these highlights is a defense that had some problems early, but turned it up a notch later in the first half.

dark. Next. Betting the Big Ten week 2

At one point, Colorado went four straight drives with a punt and three straight drives ended on a sack. The Buffaloes were able to rally a bit at the end of the first half and cut the lead to 21-17. Still it’s hard to imagine anyone is really unhappy about the way the Nebraska football team played in the first half the Scott Frost era.
