Caleb Tannor getting playing time as a true freshman

It’s possible that one of the reasons Breon Dixon isn’t on the Nebraska football depth chart is because Caleb Tannor is. The coaching staff has made no bones about moving certain players around to fit the sytem.

They’ve certainly done that with guys like Colin Miller, who was outside linebacker last season and will play inside this year. Caleb Tannor lands on the two-deep for one of the outside linebacker slots.

Tannor is backing up Luke Gifford at the moment, but you’ve got to wonder how long he’s going to be manning the backup spot.

While some of the people on the week one depth chart have been a bit surprising, Tannor has gotten nothing but rave reviews from the coaching staff since getting to camp. He’s the kind of athlete the Cornhuskers are looking for at that spot.

There are, quite frankly a ton of newcomers on the two-deep for the Nebraska football team. It’s going to be very interesting to see how they mesh and how they look against Akron.
