Nebraska football: 5 takeaways from the week 1 depth chart
Where is Jaevon McQuitty?
After sitting out last season with an injury, there were plenty of people who thought McQuitty could be a force for this version of the Nebraska football team.
If he’s going to be that force, he’s going to have to first win some playing time. His absence from the depth chart, is notable.
It’s more notable considering it means he is, at the very least, the number eight receiver. There are seven receivers listed on the depth chart for the Akron game.
It’s not a reach to say him not making the depth chart at all is a shock. The good news is that so far, he’s not talking about leaving.
The same can’t be said for several Huskers who left once they realized they may not make the two-deep. Some left even before it was made official.
This is one of those situations where you just have to wonder if it’s a talent thing, a practicing better thing, or simply a lack of understanding of the offense. This is one development to keep an eye on and see if anything changes for the Nebraska football team moving forward.
