The serious quote also comes from Big Ten Media Days, when Scott Frost and other coaches were being interviewed. The quote came after being asked about Nebraska Football’s defense and how it will be improved when compared to a rather pathetic 2017 season.

"Fifty percent of defense is attitude and effort. From a far, those things seemed to be missing last year. They won’t be missing this year."

Scott Frost is usually very serious and rather impassive when he speaks to the media. However, the way he said this was different. It wasn’t just said with seriousness, but with intensity. His answer ended with an abruptness that would usually be followed by a mic drop.

He also put some extra emphasis on the “won’t” in the last sentence that really made it believable. I certainly hope he’s speaking the truth because effort and intensity were a rarity among the 2017 Blackshirts.
