Nebraska football head coach Scott Frost talked to Jim Rome about how hard he and his staff are going to work to get the Huskers back to their glory days.

One of the reasons Nebraska football fans are excited about the arrival of Scott Frost is because he was the here the last time the Cornhuskers were the Cornhuskers. The fans are hoping he can get the program back to the glory days.

It turns out Frost wants to get back to the glory days as well. Talking to Jim Rome on Tuesday on his popular show, he addressed a number of different topics.

Frost talked about toxic programs around the country but also talked about his plan to get the Huskers back to glory. Frost was asked flat out what it was like “back then” and said he is going to be doing everything he can to get it “back there.”

The new head coach added that he and his staff have a “lot to build on” and the resources that are available to the program he wants to take advantage of again.

Frost also talked about how surreal it is to be working with Tom Osborne, who was, of course, his head coach when he was the quarterback. The young coach talked about how he used to go and sit in Osborne’s office and talk to him. Now the pair sits in Frost’s office and talk about where the team is going.

The new head coach also talked about the progress they’ve already made since the new staff got there. Rome also asked how Frost is going to be measuring success.

The Huskers’ coach said he wants to improve day by day and attack everything they do. That includes going to class, eating right and also getting better on the football field. The Nebraska head coach said that if they do that, it will translate to success on the field.
