Nebraska football head coach Scott Frost has once again voiced his displeasure about the state of the program he has inherited.

Anyone who has been paying attention since Scott Frost returned to Lincoln has probably noticed it. The new Nebraska football coach isn’t a fan of what has happened to the Cornhuskers since his playing days.

It didn’t take long for Frost and his staff to start talking about what they were doing differently, even over the winter, compared to what Mike Riley and his staff were doing.

To be clear, it’s not just what Mike Riley did. Frost isn’t a fan of most of what’s happened to the Huskers in the last 20 or so years.

In a recent interview with ESPN, the new coach voiced his displeasure once again.

"“They were intentional departures from the things that made Nebraska what it was. I’m not the smartest guy in the world, but I’m smart enough to look back at some of the the characteristics and traits of the program when Coach Osborne was here that made it successful.”"

Frost went on to say that he’s going to do his best to implement those traits, while bringing a modern offense to Nebraska. The coach has also made some vague comments before about setting things right.

In the interview, he makes it clear that he feels his job is more than just coaching the team this year. It’s reversing what he saw happen as he watched from afar.

“I will tell you that when I got here [from UCF],” Frost said, “a lot of the things that existed around here weren’t the way that I wanted them.”

The question now becomes, does Scott Frost really have the formula to set things right? Can he bring back the way the old way the Nebraska football team did things while adding some bits of the new? We’re going to start finding out in just a few weeks.
