The Nebraska football team opens Big Ten play in the Big House. That’s about the worse place possible to kick off a new coach’s conference season.

If that wasn’t bad enough news then the fact that this is the year that Harbaugh got himself a quarterback is even more frightening.

Shea Patterson is the odds-on favorite to be under center for the Wolverines this season. He’s easily the best QB that’s played for Michigan since… Tom Brady?

That’s certainly a possibility if everything goes right. Patterson’s arrival should be a big boost to an offense that was Akron level bad last year.

Michigan was the 105th ranked offense in the country. Their passing offense was 111th.

The Wolverines’ rushing offense, on the other hand, was 49th in the country. A big part of that was Karan Higdon, who ran for 994 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The scary part is that nine starters return on defense for a unit that was the third best in the country. If the Huskers escape Michigan with a win it will be a pretty big upset.

Prediction Time

The Nebraska football team is going to have a rough go in this game. Those who think blowouts are a thing of the past already might not be happy with this one as the Huskers will fall to 3-1 with a 31-14 loss.
