Former Nebraska football head coach Tom Osborne has devoted his life to helping those who need his help and ‘Power of Sports’ will shine a light on that.

Tom Osborne is not directly helping to shape the young men who play for Nebraska football anymore. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t work hard to make sure that those who need a help, get help.

These days, one of the greatest coaches in football history is busy with his mentoring organization TeamMates. This is an organization that Dr. Tom started back in 1991 alongside his wife Nancy.

Since he left the coaching ranks, he’s been able to spend more time focusing on the organization. That focus is going to be part of this month’s edition of Fox Sports’ program, Power of Sports.

For those who haven’t watched the program yet, this would be the month to start. Fox Sports will replay the episode numerous times in the month of August.

Depending on where you live in the country, the first airing was earlier this week. In Nebraska, it was this afternoon.

The episode will shed more light onto Osborne’s school-based mentoring program that provides both education and scholarships and college tuition aid for students in need.

Osborne is being highlighted alongside Alabama head coach Nick Saban and his Nick’s Kids Foundation. There will be other stories about people throughout the college football world who are helping those who need a hand up.

If you live in the Fox Sports Midwest viewing audience and you missed this afternoon’s airing, you can catch it again on the following dates and times:

  • Monday, August 13 at 6:00 PM
  • Friday, August 17 at 5:00 PM
  • Saturday, August 18 at 5:30 PM
  • Tuesday, August 21 at 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday, August 28 at 8:30 AM
