Nebraska football coach Barrett Ruud is a big fan of doing away with two-a-days and other kernels of Husker news in today’s Go Big Read.

The Nebraska football team, as well as the rest of college football, don’t have a tool in its practice toolbelt that used to be standard. Two-a-day practices, once a staple of football in general, are not allowed by the NCAA anymore.

To hear linebacker coach Barrett Ruud tell it, that particular tool isn’t going to be missed. Ruud recently talked to Steve Sipple about how much he likes the new practice and “preseason” rules put in place.

Check out his comments and more in this morning’s Go Big Read:

Yet another new Husker is getting quite a bit of praise for his performance early in camp.

UCF grad transfer Neal’s impact already felt at Husker practice
Speaking of new Huskers, Tre Neal is more than a boost in talent in the defensive backfield. As Parker Gabriel points out, he’s like having another coach playing right there on the field.

There’s also been plenty of praise for a returning Nebraska football player. Tight end Jack Stoll is apparently stepping up.

Beilein is one of the best head coaches in college basketball. Its good to see he is apparently recovering well. When we beat Michigan this year, we’re going to want him at the helm.

It wouldn’t be a day that ends in y if we didn’t talk about Ohio State. That rally was an embarrassment to anyone who considers themselves a rational human. I get why Ezekiel’s family supports Urban. It would have been better if they supported him from afar.
