Nebraska basketball: Former Husker Tshimanga has started looking at new schools
Former Nebraska basketball star Jordy Tshimanga has officially started looking at a new landing spot. He and his brother looked at the same school Wednesday.
Former Nebraska basketball center Jordy Tshimanga announced he was leaving Lincoln late last month. It looks like the once heralded prospect has started to look for his new home.
Reports surfaced earlier this week that Tshimanga took a visit to the University of Dayton on Wednesday. One of the more interesting aspects to the news is that it appears as though he and his brother Emmanuel might be a package deal.
Emmanuel is a prospect from the 2019 class at Bella Vista in Scottsdale, Arizona. If the Flyers could manage to get both the elder Tshimanga and his brother, it would mean one of the better Atlantic 10 teams could be set at center for quite a few years.
Jordy is entering his junior year. After sitting out this season, and using a redshirt to avoid losing any eligibility, he would have two years left to play. While he never achieved the kind of numbers he was expected to at Nebraska, a place like Dayton might be a place he could get better and have a more traditional role at center.
When Jordy Tshimanga left the Nebraska basketball team, it was rather obvious that he was looking for a team that could get him playing time. Dayton certainly seems to fit that bill.
Only one player on the Flyers is taller than 6-9. Should the team manage to land both Tshimanga brothers, it would certainly be taking care of their lack of size in one fell swoop.
