The Nebraska football team could be getting even more of a roster makeover if the Huskers can land a former UCLA signee Bryan Addison.

The Nebraska football team could be getting one more player that would help revamp a roster that went 4-8 a year ago. Just one day after the Huskers landed UCF grad transfer Tre Neal, former UCLA signee Bryan Addison announced the Cornhuskers were in the final four for his services.

In addition to announcing the final four, Addison said he will be announcing the team he will be playing for early “next week.” That makes sense since whatever team he decides to play for will be opening their fall camp in a matter of days.

Addison is going to be a major coup for whatever team manages to land him the second time through. The athlete was the 11th ranked player in California for the 2018 class according to 247Sports.

He was also the 98th best player in the entire class and the third ranked athlete. He was a signee with UCLA in December and fully expected to be playing for the Bruins this fall but a snafu led to him leaving the program.

“There was a delay in me hearing back from UCLA admissions,” Addison told 247Sports. “I have been fighting this for 5-6 weeks and things were a little slow to get going and time was running out for me. All the other freshmen were already enrolling and it was getting stressful for me.”

Addison added that he was worried that if things fell all the way through, he wouldn’t have time to find another school, so he asked for his release. The player, who was expected to compete for a starting receiver spot on Chip Kelly’s first Bruins team was granted that release earlier this week.

Addison said he’s already been told by ASU, Oregon, USC, Nebraska and Washington that he had cleared and would be immediately eligible. It appears USC has now been taken off the list of finalists and it’s down to Arizona State, Oregon, Washington and the Nebraska football team.
