We’re not going to have a ton of former Husker athletes on the list, but Andy Roddick counts because he never played for the Nebraska football team.

Roddick did play tennis for the Cornhuskers and once he went pro, his career certainly took off. There was a time there, longer than people likely realize when he was one of the best players in the entire country.

He was also one of the best players in the entire world. It’s been well documented that once he went pro and left Lincoln behind, he was still a heck of a Cornhuskers fan.

We all know the old saying “once a Husker, always a Husker.” It turns out that Andy Roddick certainly believes in that particular adage.

There have been times when he’s even sported apparel that showed off his love of the Nebraska football team when he was “working.”
