Mario McKinney would certainly be a big get for the Nebraska basketball team. The combo guard in the 2019 class is considered one of the best of the best.

The guard is considered a 3-star prospect out of Saint Louis. According to 247Sports composite ratings, he’s the second best player in the entire state of Missouri.

It should come as no surprise, when talking about a player like that, he would be much sought after. Certainly the Missouri Tigers are hot on his heels.

McKinney announced he received an offer from the Cornhuskers on Monday night. Perhaps the fact that the Huskers are the first team to make an offer in quite a while will get them in the door.

McKinney has 17 total offers so far. Among those offers are some of the best college basketball programs in the country.

In addition to the Tigers, the Cornhuskers are going to be trying to fight off the likes of Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Auburn, Illinois and Xavier.

Because the offer is so new, it’s impossible to know where the Nebraska basketball stands with Mario McKinney. If they have an uphill climb getting McKinney then they definitely have a fight on their hands for the other prospect they offered this week.
