The Nebraska football team has managed to make the Top 4 list for a talented defensive back in the 2019 class who had originally committed to Oregon.

A little over a month ago, Cameron Williams announced he was no longer committed to the Oregon Ducks. On Sunday, the defensive back out of California announced his Top 5 teams and the Nebraska football team was among them.

The list is an interesting one if only because it has a definite Pac 12 bent, but there are a couple of outliers. Along with the Cornhuskers, Williams named Oregon, USC, Washington, and Oklahoma.

With the Ducks still being in the mix, it appears the Huskers are going to have their work cut out for them if they want to real the defensive back into Lincoln.

Both Rivals and 247Sports have Williams rated as a 3-star prospect and 247s

Composite

has him ranked as the 34th best athlete in the class. He’s also the 47th ranked player in the entire state of California.

While this isn’t exactly who is going to set off alarm bells when it comes to those rankings, his list of schools is quite impressive. Williams has 18 total offers from some of the best schools in the country.

Florida, Tennessee and Wisconsin are among the Power 5 schools that could not make the cut for the Bakersfield athlete. At the FBS level, Williams is projecting out to be a safety, though he has played quarterback at the high school ranks as well.

It doesn’t appear any of the final five schools on his list are looking at him on the offensive side of the ball. Williams has already taken one official visit, to the Washington Huskies on June 22. The Nebraska football team will now start working hard to get him into Lincoln for another official visit this fall.
