Nebraska recruiting efforts appear to be paying off for the Huskers when it comes to landing a talented defensive back out of the state of Arizona.

Those who have been following Nebraska recruiting at all know that the Huskers have been going hard after defensive backs. Those efforts appear to be paying off a bit as Arizona defensive back Javin Wright has named the Cornhuskers among his final four teams.

Wright announced the teams he’s looking at on Friday afternoon, putting the Huskers with three Pac-12 schools. That could mean a hard uphill climb is left to go.

It’s also possible that if Wright wants to head outside his comfort zone, it appears the Cornhuskers have the inside track. Wright is a 3-star prospect according to both Rivals and 247Sports.

He’s the 111th best corner in the 2019 class according to 247’s Composite ratings. He’s also the 18th best player in the state of Arizona for this class.

In addition to Nebraska, Wright has said he’s still looking at Washington, Arizona State and UCLA. The announcement that he’s cut down to four means he’s jettisoned about six other schools that were going after the defensive back.

The Huskers are not only the single team that is in his cut from the Big Ten. They were also one of the only teams outside the Pac 12 that offered Wright.

It appears that being the team that stuck out from the crowd did them a service. Even if the Huskers don’t win the Javin Wright sweepstakes, it appears the Nebraska recruiting approach is working out okay.
