The former Nebraska football player announced his new school on Twitter.

When Ben Miles announced he was leaving the Nebraska football team, he was one of the first Riley holdovers to make the decision to leave. It turns out he’s now one of the last to find his new school.

Miles announced on Sunday afternoon he had indeed landed with his new team and it turns out he’ll be playing in the SEC. “Made it to Campus… I am really excited about my opportunity here in College Station! Once again, thank you to the coaches that recruited me to Nebraska and invested in me for a year. This is my next step. I can’t wait to get started!”

Miles said as he Tweeted out the logo of the Texas A&M Aggies. It turns out Miles will be playing for Jimbo Fisher, who is new to the Aggies as well.

Miles is from SEC territory so to some degree he’s returning to his home region. Back when he was first leaving high school, he was being recruited by his father, former LSU head coach Les Miles.

Mike Riley and the Cornhuskers beat out Ben’s dad in that race. Unfortunately for the fullback, Scott Frost and the new staff are removing a need for a dedicated fullback.

Shortly after the Spring Game Miles decided that he was going to need to find himself a new team. In the process, he’s been nothing but thankful to the old staff for recruiting him. He’s been quite respectful to the new staff as well as he seems to understand he just wasn’t a fit for the new offense.

Miles follows in the footsteps of other recent Nebraska football departures like quarterback Patrick O’Brien and linebacker Andrew Ward. O’ Brien settled on Colorado State and Ward transferred to Central Michigan. All three players will have to sit out this current season but will be eligible to play in 2019.
