Demetris Robertson might be looking towards the SEC but the Nebraska football coaches are good in that area.

One of the very big positives of staffing the Nebraska football team with UCF coaches is that they have good connections down south.

The Huskers’ new staff has been working Georgia hard. They’ve been doing that work since they arrived in Lincoln.

That might a kind of ace in the hole when it comes to getting someone who might not have looked towards the Big Ten otherwise. Wisconsin did go after Demetris Robertson but didn’t make much inroads.

Notre Dame and Ohio State did the same. Neither of those staffs had the kind of experience working in the deep south the way these guys do.

That doesn’t mean that the Cornhuskers staff is going to win this battle. There’s not even a guarantee they are going to fight the battle.

If the Nebraska football team does decide they want to get Demetris Robertson, they will at least have a leg to stand on that Mike Riley and his crew really didn’t. The things is that there is very little doubt that they should go after him. This is one of the bigger sure-thing type prospects that is suddenly out there on the market.
