Nebraska football got an under the radar offensive tackle with Matthew Anderson.

While the Nebraska football coaching staff is plenty excited about Matthew Anderson, this isn’t a commit where the team fought off a ton of high profile teams.

While the tackle has earned three stars from 247Sports, he doesn’t have a rating in their composite ratings. Rivals has not given him a star rating either.

Those ratings, or lack of ratings are despite the fact that Anderson is 6-6 and weighs in at 250 pounds. The Cornhuskers are the only Power 5 school that has shown any real interest in the prospect.

He did have a handful of offers from other schools, but they were all mid-majors at best. Lousiana Tech, Louisiana Lafayette, Western Kentucky and Texas State are all FBS schools that have told the offensive tackle they want him to play for them.

Because of that, Anderson’s commit to the Nebraska football team isn’t a huge shock. It would have been interesting to see if he would have gotten more big-time teams offering him now that the Cornhuskers have shown interest. It will be interesting to see if big schools start knocking down his door now that he’s committed.
