One of the latest Nebraska recruiting moves was to offer a 2021 offensive lineman who might end up being the best player in the state of Kansas that class.

While Scott Frost and company are getting ready for a big weekend, the Nebraska recruiting efforts aren’t focusing solely on who is coming to Lincoln over the next few days.

Earlier this week, the Cornhuskers made an offer to Jaeden Roberts. The 2021 offensive lineman isn’t someone that has garnered much in the way of attention so far but it doesn’t seem as if that’s going to be the case for very long.

The Cornhuskers are the second team to offer Roberts. The first team to give the offensive lineman an offer was an old conference rival of the Huskers.

The Missouri Tigers were the first team to get a scholarship offer out to the player. The Huskers now have their foot in the door nice and early as well.

Despite the fact that only two FBS teams are showing official attention, the sky appears to be the limit for the Overland Park prospect. Rivals believes that when everything shakes out, Roberts might end up being the top target in the state for the 2021 class.

When talking about a player that might have that kind of talent, it’s not surprising the Nebraska football team is wanting to make sure they make an impression.

Roberts certainly has the body and size to be an effective blocker, whenever he manages to get to college. Despite being a few years away from high school graduation, he already stands 6-6 and weighs in at 320 pounds.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about this offer is that the Nebraska recruiting efforts seem to have started focusing on the 2021 class more and more. The most high profile offer the Cornhuskers have made in that class went to Jake Garcia, a Husker legacy who could end up being the best quarterback in that class. With Jaeden Roberts, Frost and company are going after guys that can keep his jersey clean.
