Nebraska recruiting: Dynasty quarterback prospect Jake Garcia gets more Power 5 offers
One of the 2021 targets for the Nebraska recruiting efforts looks like he’s going to be quite the get considering he’s getting more Power 5 offers.
When it comes to the Nebraska recruiting practices for the far-flung future, it’s mostly about hoping that their targets are going to keep the Huskers in their hearts and minds.
When it comes to 2021 quarterback target Jake Garcia, the Cornhuskers have a bit of an in. Garcia is the son of former Nebraska football player Randy Garcia. Offered about a month ago today, Garcia is seeing interest from some of the best programs in the country on increase.
Over the weekend, the quarterback, who could very well be at the top of the list in his class received offers from USC and LSU. Those two offers mean that Garcia is up to eight total offers.
That’s a pretty impressive number considering he can’t sign on the dotted line for a couple of years. There was little doubt that he was going to get those kinds of offers, it’s one of the reasons the Cornhuskers wanted to get their foot in the door relatively early.
With USC and LSU offering this weekend, Jake Garcia boasts offers from Arizona State, Georgia, Indiana and San Jose State. It was SJSU that actually gave the quarterback prospect his first FBS offer.
It doesn’t seem likely the Spartans are going to be holding onto this prospect given the number of big schools that are showing interest. If the Huskers could manage to real in Garcia, it would certainly be a win for the Nebraska recruiting efforts, especially at the quarterback position.

The good news is that Garcia has made it clear that Lincoln and Husker fans hold a special place in his heart. That could go a long way if he does indeed turn into the quarterback recruiting experts expect him to be.
