On Monday we’ll get to see how the Nebraska recruiting efforts are going first hand. Top linebacker target Daniel Heimuli is set to narrow his focus.

When it comes to the Nebraska recruiting efforts of the staff this month, it seems as if the football team’s coaching staff is hitting on all cylinders. They’ve already had four commits for the 2019 class and they are trying to keep the training heading down the tracks.

That includes a recent unofficial visit by four-star linebacker Daniel Heimuli. The California product was in to take in the sights for Friday Night Lights and tweeted out his appreciation to the staff for getting him into town.

The unofficial visit comes while the linebacker continues to get offers from Power 5 conference teams. Heimuli is now up to 24 offers, including USC, Alabama and Notre Dame.

At the moment, the player, who is considered the 12th best inside linebacker in the country appears to be leaning towards USC. That comes from 247Sports and it makes some sense.

At the same time, it has to be considered a pretty big win for the Nebraska football team to get the linebacker into Lincoln for an unofficial visit or not. We’ll get to see how he really feels about the Cornhuskers on Monday.

On Sunday, the player tweeted out he will be announcing his final eight teams sometime on Monday. If the Nebraska recruiting efforts have really paid off, then the Cornhuskers should be able to come in as one of those eight teams. Should they manage to score a chance to stay in the running for Daniel Heimuli, it would have to be taken as a sign that the way Scott Frost and the rest of the staff know what they are doing by going after some of these longshot prospects.
