The Nebraska recruiting efforts are ramping up this weekend with Friday Night Lights. Quarterback Micah Bowens got himself an offer at the camp.

Friday night lights is a big tool for Nebraska recruiting. That doesn’t mean only Friday night is going to yield results.

On Saturday, quarterback Micah Bowens received an offer from the Cornhuskers. Bowens received the fifth offer from an FBS school thanks to being in Lincoln.

The class of 2020 quarterback is considered a three-star prospect according to 247Sports and Rivals both. 247Sports currently has him as the eighth best player in the state of Nevada.

The Bishop Gorman prospect is yet another of those quarterbacks that would certainly fit the bill when it comes to Scott Frost’s offense. He’s a true dual-threat signal caller, who has a decent arm and can fly up and down the football field.

Standing at 6-1 and weighing in at 185 pounds, he’s also got a pretty good build for an FBS quarterback. So far, Bowens isn’t getting a ton of attention, but he seems to be grabbing more eyes as we move closer to the 2020 cycle.

Arizona, BYU, Kansas and New Mexico have all offered Bowens as well as Nebraska. Considering where he’s planning on spending his summer, it stands to reason he’s going to be pulling down more scholarship offers relatively soon.

While the dual-threat quarterback is camping with the Huskers this weekend, he’ll be headed to South Bend next week. Later in the summer, he’s expected to take an unofficial visit to the Oregon Ducks.

So far, the Nebraska recruiting effort appears to have gotten its foot in the door at just the right time. We’ll have to wait and see just what their offering this early does as far as getting and keeping the attention of Micah Bowens and his Bishop Gorman teammates, who tend to be plenty talented.
